So during our program’s spring break, I travelled home to spend the week with my family. While I was back home, I tried to hit the gym as often as possible. My friend Jamie and I were in the sauna at the gym when we entered into a conversation with another man in the sauna. When I asked what he did, he replied, “I’m the Senior VP of Human Resources for Pelco.” I was actually so surprised by this I had to ask him again! of the 1.5 million people in Fresno county, I meet the senior VP of Human Resources of the largest company in the area! Ahh... the power of networking!!
Here is a little about the company from their website:

Above all else, Pelco attributes its continued success and growth to the company’s ability to provide courteous, on-time service and dependable products.

My internship with Pelco will start upon my return from my study abroad program in Oxford. My internship is in the exact field that I would like to work in, Organizational Effectiveness. I will be put in charge of a new program at Pelco that I will design, implement, track and improve during my time with them this summer. I am very excited about this great opportunity!
